I, Richard Smith, am a final year student in Bachelor of Arts in your esteemed university. I am writing this letter to request you for a long medical leave of one month as I have recently been operated and as prescribed by the doctors, I need to take immense post surgical care for a quicker recovery.

Few days ago, in the university ground, while playing football, my ankle got twisted and I was under severe pain. After examination, doctors suggested a small surgery to ensure that my ankle is back in shape and suggested bed rest for a month for better recovery. I request you to please grant me a medical leave of one month starting from January 16^th, 2026 to February 16^th, 2026 so that I can recover from the surgery.

For your reference, I have attached with this letter the doctor’s prescription that suggests bed rest for at least a month. I am hopeful that you will consider my condition and allow me the medical leave. I would also like to request you to please not mark me absent for all these days and consider it as a medical leave so that my overall attendance does not suffer.
