Promotion Request Letter

A promotion request letter, as its name says, it is a written request for a promotion to the management team of a company or an organization. An employee who writes this letter should have the skills to take responsibility of his recommended position, without which his/her request, may fail to seek attention. The letter should describe the concerned employee’s skills and performances that perfectly go with the desired post. If the letter seems reasonable for the team, they can approve the request.

Here in the example, a junior accountant executive writes this promotion request letter in order to get a promotion to the senior accountant executives on the basis of his skills and knowledge.

VP, Human Resource

DSH Corporation

Sub: Request Letter for Job Promotion

To whom it may concern:

This is to convey my request of promotion to you. As you know, I have been working for more than 10 years in your company in the accounting field, I am still a junior account executive and I have been in the same position for the six years. I request you for the promotion to the post of senior accountant executive.

When I started, I joined as an accounting clerk and I had been in the same post for four years. After that, fortunately I was promoted to the junior accountant executive for my outstanding performance. As a senior accountant will soon take the retirement I apply my name for this post. If you have any doubt regarding my skills and knowledge, you can check my work performances.

I assure you to maintain the responsibility of the said post with a great care. Hope you think over the matter and decide favorably.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely yours,

Mariah Smith
